Chapter Five: "Loser" Defect in the Basic Simple Squeeze Position.

There are many different ways you can a have a defect in the number of losers. The most common is to have two or more losers when you are trying to win just one extra trick. It turns out that defects in the “loser” requirement can be a blessing.

The easiest remedy is to “correct the count”. There is not a lot of strategy to a many of the correct the count positions. You lose the trick(s) necessary as soon as feasible to get the count down to where the squeeze can be executed. Sometimes, complications will not let you correct the count at first. Just one example is if you duck a trick they will take an immediate ruff or cash an immediate second trick. These cases become a little more complicated, but lets start with the first, easy step, where you lose a trick as soon as possible.
